Yaz (Yasmin) birth control pills have been found to increase the number of strokes in women, one of the serious side effects of Yaz and a medical condition that can leave the victim dead or disabled.
A Yaz stroke can permanently leave victims:
- Unable to properly hear or see
- Unable to communicate or comprehend others
- With loss of sensations
- With loss of movement including paralysis
- With loss of bladder and bowel functions
- With loss of balance
What are Yaz or Yasmin strokes?
A stroke is what happens when the brain is not receiving enough oxygen because a blood clot prevents oxygen from reaching a part of the brain tissue. Because the brain tissue does not receive enough oxygen and other nutrients as it normally should, brain cells begin to quickly die. Strokes can cause irreparable damage and years of needless suffering.
Warning symptoms of a stroke include:
- Shortness of breath
- Confusion and difficulty with walking,
talking and understanding speech
- Numbness and or weakness in limbs or face,
often on only one side of the body
- Bad headaches and vision problems
in either or both eyes
Treating a Stroke
Since a stroke can occur at any time, prevention can be difficult in low-risk patients simply because strokes are unanticipated and may show no pre-warning signs. For stroke victims, surgery is determined on a case by case basis with vascular surgeons, cardiologists, neurosurgeons and other specialists to determine the proper course of action.
If you or a loved one experience these symptoms while on Yaz or Yasmin birth control, please seek medical attention immediately as a stroke can be very damaging to a person’s health.
