How long will it take to settle my Yaz lawsuit?
The volume of Yaz (as well as Yasmin and Ocella) lawsuits filed throughout the country has grown at almost exponential rate since the complications surrounding use of the oral contraceptive(s) have prompted more and more women to seek legal counsel for their injuries. So far, the makers of Yaz have fought the allegations. As a result, no Yaz settlements have yet been reported and it remains to be seen exactly when such settlements may occur.
The good news
The good news is that with the growing number of cases continuing to move through the litigation process toward trial, both the federal and state court systems have initiated measures to streamline the process by consolidating the claims. Such handling by the court is reflective of the visible strain being placed upon both the court system as well the makers of Yaz to keep up with the ever-increasing number of cases. The first cases up for trial are expected to begin in September, 2011.
Soon to come
While there can be no guarantee regarding the time it will take to settle your Yaz lawsuit, sooner or later the makers of Yaz will likely begin negotiating settlements for many of the women who have suffered legitimate, life-threatening, and sometimes even fatal injuries.
